Pilbara Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Facility

Description:

Drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. Currently in contract documentation. Forward works package completed.

Location:

South Hedland, WA

Client:

Not-for-profit, Yaandina Family Centre Inc

Key Stakeholders:

Pilbara Community, Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Health (OATSIH)

Services:

Community consultation and stakeholder engagement, site analysis and interpretation, master-planning, building design.

Problem:

The client’s initial scope, (developed before Formworks engagement) had omitted some technical requirements, resulting in a severe budget shortfall that threatened to end the project.

Solution:

After assisting the client to correctly define and budget the scope, Formworks restructured the project into a series of selfstanding stages matched to new funding tranches.
This approach has enabled the project to go ahead as planned.

Client Feedback

"Formworks are an impressive organisation that have supported Yaandina to grow and provide infrastructure based on ‘best practice’ service delivery that meets the many needs of vulnerable, sick and disabled people in the Pilbara. They have developed workable projects in the harshest of environmental and procurement conditions where there has been no built environment before. We are grateful to have Formworks as our partners in this very challenging work."
